Fasting

Fasting is a critical component of waiting on God. Fasting is not just about abstaining from food but about aligning our hearts with God’s will. It is a multifaceted practice that involves devotion, humility, and a deeper intimacy with God. Fasting helps us to prioritise our spiritual life and strengthens our dependence on God. Fasting is a biblical practice, seen in both the Old and New Testaments, that can be undertaken for many reasons: repentance, seeking protection, or preparing for spiritual tasks.

Fasting is a means to access God’s mind and align ourselves with His will. Fasting is not about twisting God’s arm or seeking blessings. It is about feasting on the Lord and seeking His presence, power, and guidance. Fasting is most effective when paired with prayer. Together, they lead to spiritual transformation and help us live for God’s purposes.
